Viking and Proud
This 7th century helmet was possessed by a powerful Norse war-lord. It was found in a boat grave that dates back to the Vendel Period, the era that immediately preceded the Viking Age in Scandinavia. The helmet is ornamented with dragons.

This design is based on Torslunda helmet plate (early 7th century). It features warriors, who have an image of a boar on their helmets, which was a symbol of might. Norse warriors held swords and spears. Colourful design will certainly attract attention.

The Sutton Hoo helmet is a fine example of the Anglo-Saxon superior quality craftsmanship. This rare object was found in a 6th century ship burial. It is believed that the Sutton Hoo helmet once belonged to Raedwald, ruler of East Anglia.

Norse magic symbol Vegvísir has a deep meaning. In Icelandic it means ‘guidepost’ or ‘direction sign’. It is also called Runic Compass or See the Way. This symbol was drawn on one’s forehead with blood to prevent a person from getting lost.

The words laukaR, auja, laþu, alu, ota are magic words or formulaic words that were believed to have supernatural power. Ancient Germanic runemakers carved them on various artefacts in order to attract luck and invoke protection.
